Institut Greenie at the 23rd LUPA Festival

On September 3rd, Institut Greenie proudly took part in the 23rd LUPA Festival of NGOs in Ljubljana – Slovenia’s largest annual event dedicated to non-governmental organizations, hosted by CNVOS (Centre for Information Service, Co-operation and Development of NGOs).

This year’s festival brought together 66 organizations from across the country, all showcasing their initiatives to make society more sustainable, inclusive, and connected. Set against the lively backdrop of Prešeren Square, the event celebrated collaboration, creativity, and the collective effort of Slovenia’s civil society.

Ever tried fitting a whole NGO’s mission onto a 90 cm-wide counter? Neither had we – until this festival! Despite our tiny stand (and one shared chair), Greenie’s energy, ideas, and enthusiasm filled the space and beyond.

We had the pleasure of meeting inspiring organizations such as Focus Association for Sustainable Development, EUSA – European University Sports Association, Zavod Radio Študent, Zavod BOB, and many others. Together, we shared stories, insights, and visions for a more sustainable and community-driven future.

At Institut Greenie, we believe that volunteering and civic engagement should be impactful, fun, and accessible. Events like LUPA remind us that real change grows through collaboration and curiosity – whether it’s through digital innovation, green actions, or simply taking the time to connect.

We’re deeply grateful to CNVOS for organizing such an inspiring event and to everyone who stopped by to chat, smile, or borrow our chair for a moment 🪑

Here’s to building a future where doing good becomes second nature — and where every small act counts 💚
